Melissa Coffey
Conference Director
Melissa Coffey, of Mooresville, North Carolina, is a 7th grade math teacher in the Mooresville Graded School System. She also coaches track, Most of her time outside of work is spent at the soccer field, karate dojo, or basketball court supporting her kids and husband.
Melissa earned a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematic’s Education at Indiana State Univesity. She later earned her Master’s of Arts degree in Educational Leadership Studies from Gardner Webb University.
Melissa's PBL career started in 2004 when she began to help out at conferences. During this time, her husband, Michael, served two terms as the Professional Division President. Melissa then became a Professional Division member in 2006. Her involvement has included judging competitive events at SLC, assisting with the Non-Trivia Contest at FLDC, and arranging the banquet seating at SLC.
Melissa has a passion of working with students of all ages. This is why she decided to join the NCPBL PD-F Board. Her goals are to improve the support of the students by PD-F members. She hopes that an increase in membership and more awareness to all stakeholders will improve the support of the students by PD-F members.
